Welcome to Week 2
Congratulations for completing Module 1!
I hope that these reflection exercises have allowed you to rediscover some self-care activities that had been forgotten and allowed you to rediscover (even just on paper) what makes you feel really good. This week we are going to continue paying attention to our energy levels and emotions and really paying attention the activities which have the highest return on investment. Our time is precious, and I feel that finding out what really makes you feel the best is the one to focus on. Once our self care habits become automatic, we can add some more actions to the list but right now, the answer is to keep things simple.
This week we will also focus on our support networks: past, present and future. We will start paying attention to those around us and either start recognising the golden connections we already have in our networks, or identifying where these gaps are. Awareness is the greatest agent of change, and knowing where you can improving is often the first step of the process.
I'm a big fan of having a broad support base, because it allows us to reach out to our networks in a measured and sustainable way. Only have one go-to person after a crisis can mean that for extended periods of time, we are hugely reliant on one person, which can impact on the dynamics of a friendship. Unless the level of support is reciprocated quickly, resentments and frustrations can build.
Having said this, of course our friends and partners should support us 100% but we are in a better position if we can consciously choose the best support for our needs, and ensure that we give back as much as we receive.
So, to get started, I invite you to click on the link to access Module 2.
As you work through this feel free to email me any thoughts, questions or insights you receive.
Warm regards,
India
