Welcome to Week 1
The theme for this week is "Respond". Here we are going to respond to any recent stressors and we are also going to start becoming more mindful of our response to our various self care activities.
Within this week's activities there there is an emergency self care checklist for anyone who is currently experiencing a shock. Our bodies can only respond as well as it is fuelled, so if the experience of trauma and shock is recent, these may help you. I have also included some suggestions for self care activities to get you started, with an accompanying journalling activity. Lastly there is some goal setting and self-reflection exercises. These are designed to help you gain a really good perspective on what you want to achieve throughout this course and more broadly. By stating your intention to work on these areas, you will automatically become more aware of the opportunities that will arise in your day to day life to assist you in this.

Note: Everyone has their own way of working, so here are a couple of ways you might like to approach the course.You could:
- Buy a brand new journal and download each worksheet, so you can go through the activities systematically, on paper.
- Create an online folder on your computer, and store the worksheet there, and use a secure online journal like Penzu (it's free) so you can do the activities systematically, online.
- Using a scraps of paper and journalling wherever and whenever you can.
